GANGTOK, 10 Nov: ‘Niyam-ta Yehi-cha’, a play by the artists of National School of Drama, Sikkim Theatre Training Centre in collaboration with the Cultural Affairs & Heritage Department, was performed on Saturday and Sunday evenings here at Mannan Kendra. The play was performed to great appreciation and applause of the audience.
The play is a Nepali adaptation of German playwright Bertolt Brecht’s “Exception and the Rule”. In its Nepali adaptation, the play is layered on the background of Indo-Tibet trade through Sikkim.
The play was designed and directed by Kamaluddin Nilu, with dramatization by Asif Ali Haider Kha, light design by Souti Chakraborty and Nepali translation by Hasta Chettri. It excelled in all departments.
