GANGTOK, 08 Dec: A training on organic farming was held at Pakjar in South Sikkim on Saturday.
During the programme, practical demonstrations were held on how to make organic manure in bulk through Madhyam. Since the cattle population in the villages are decreasing, farmers are not receiving the required quantity of organic manure. In such a scenario, Madhyam microbial inoculants arrive as the apt option for producing organic manure.
During the training, one kilo Madhyam was distributed to the beneficiaries/ trainees. This One kg of Madhyam can produce 1,000 kg of manure provided there is sufficient biomass and cow dung, it is informed.
On the day, the welcome address was delivered by HDO of the concerned area followed by an address by the Deputy Director HCCDD, Namchi, BL Dahal who briefed the farmers on the importance of Organic Manure.
