GANGTOK, 12 Dec: A team of Anushuchit Jati Kalyan Sangh [AJKS], Sikkim, called on the Union Minister of State, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Porika Balaram Naik, on 11 December at his residence in New Delhi.
An AJKS press release informs that the team comprised of chief convenor, Binay Gazmer, president, Gopal Mothey and Zilla Panchayat member of Khamdong, Bina Lamichaney. The team briefed the Union Minister about the developmental activities and social activities undertaken for the welfare of SC population in the state.
The team apprised Mr Naik of the status of the SC community in the state. There are around 28,000 members of the community enjoying peace and harmony with other communities of the state he was informed. The team further highlighted the achievements of the SC community and various benefits and schemes for the community in the state.
