MANGAN, 12 Dec: Kids Foundation School Namok in North Sikkim celebrated is annual day on 10 December. Parent’s Day was also celebrated on the day. Assistant Director, HRDD Mangan, BAC North, PR Dulal was the chief guest of the function and PGT Hindi from Phodong Sr Sec School, Sonam Ongmu Bhutia was the guest of honour.
The programme was attended by all the parents, panchayat members and local gentries, staff and students of different schools of Namok. The children of Kids Foundation School presented various colourful cultural programmes, skits, extempore speech and the popular bamboo dance of Manipur to entertain the gathering.
Sonam Ongmu Bhutia was felicitated by the chief guest, Principal and the parents for being the first person from North District to receive a PhD in Hindi from Banasthali Vidhyapeeth Rajasthan in the year 2011.
In her address, she highlighted the importance of education and other co-curricular activities for the all-round development of students and the importance of Hindi as well. Leong Lepcha and Enameul Mar of class IV and Tenzing Norbu Sherpa were awarded certificates for academic excellence.
Certificates and prizes were also given for sports, attendance and culture, etc.
