Everesters thank CM for Sikkim Khel Ratna recognition

NAMCHI, 31 Jan: The three Everesters from South Sikkim have expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Pawan Chamling for conferring the prestigious Sikkim Khel Ratna on them during the Republic Day celebrations in Gangtok.
The awardees stated that it was a great honor to receive the prestigious award from the Chief Minister on the special occasion.
Thanking the Chief Minister, the awardees said that the vision of the CM to make Sikkim a world class adventure tourism destination has received a boost with this award and it will further inspire and encourage the upcoming generation to take adventure tourism seriously. They further said that Sikkim has huge potential, especially in the field of adventure tourism which needs to be tapped.
Amongst the awardees are Kazi Sherpa [OSD, Indian Himalayan Centre for Adventure and Eco-Tourism, Chemchey], Ravindra Kumar [IAS, SDM Namchi] and the youngest Everester from Sikkim Anand Gurung of Damthang.
They also thanked the Minister, Tourism Department and the department.
