GANGTOK, 29 Jan: Phurba Sangay Sherpa [38], accused of assaulting two technicians at the printing press of Sikkim Express and Himali Bela situated at Daragaon, Tadong on Tuesday has been put under five days police remand.
The accused is a resident of Sombaria in West Sikkim and at present resides at College area in Tadong.
A case under sections 324, 452, 506 [voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means, house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint and punishment for criminal intimidation- if threat be to cause death or grievous hurt] of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against him at the Sadar Police Station after an FIR was lodged on Tuesday morning by the Publisher of Sikkim Express. The case is under investigation.
