GANGTOK, 25 Jan: Newly enrolled voters were offered khadas, badges and voter cards [EPIC] and also took the Voter’s Pledge during the National Voters' Day celebration at Kitam School premises today. The programme was chaired by retired Police Inspector, Birsika Thapa, who was present as chief guest. Also present were former Panchayat Secretary, K P Subba, retired Supervisor, SPWD, BB Gurung and HM of Kitam School, S W Bhutia.
A press release informs that the programme started with the welcome address by Primary Teacher of Lower Gom PS (South), D N Sharma followed by introductory note on the importance of Voters' Day by Senior Graduate Teacher of Kitam Sec School (South), Suresh K. Subba.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Suresh K Subba who conducted the whole programme.
