NAMCHI, 28 Jan [IPR]: As per the Rural Management and Development Department [RMDD] Namchi, the Janta Mela has been renamed ‘Gram Swaraj Mela’. The department will be organizing the mela for South district at Assangthang Helipad, Namchi.
The Chief Minister Pawan Chamling will be present at the function as the chief guest. ADC (Dev) Benu Gurung informs that as per the list approved in the Gram Sabha, the total number of recipients in the South district is 21,904 out of which 100 beneficiaries each are from 8 constituencies.
The constituencies are Namchi-Singhithang, Poklok-Kamrang, Barfung, Yangang-Rangang, Melli, Namthang-Rateypani, Temi-Namphing and Zoom-Salghari. She further informs that under RMDD this time there are four types of benefits like House Up-gradation, GCI Sheets, Induction Stoves and CMRHM and 32 beneficiaries will be receiving tokens from the Chief Minister on that day. One beneficiary is receiving a solar lantern under SREDA.
Also Agriculture, Horticulture, Social Welfare and Cooperative are other line departments distributing benefits during Gram Swaraj Mela.
RMDD Namchi has asked the recipients to collect the tokens from the respective stalls set up in the venue and remaining beneficiaries to collect the tokens from their respective GVKs. The department further informs that GCI Sheets should be collected from the RMDD Store at Jorethang.
