Zilla Adhakshya North leads inspection of works at Pentong

MANGAN, 01 Dec: North Zilla Adhakshya, Anguli Lepcha, along with officers from line departments conducted an inspection of ongoing works being implemented by the State government in Pentong village, Dzongu on 30 November. She was accompanied by GVA, Passingdang, Tshering Gyatso Bhutia, AD, Sports, Mangan, Janim Lepcha, JE, Roads & Bridges, Netook Lepcha and JE, Zilla member, Phuchung Lepcha.
After a couple of  hours on foot from Bey the said team reached Pentong and took stock of ongoing works undertaken by different departments such as school block, CMRHM, road connectivity, playground, water supply etc.
During the inspection, the Adhakshya directed the concerned engineers of the under-construction MSDP school block, to expedite the construction work for the convenience of the children of the locality.
Meanwhile, Panchayat Secretary of Pentong, Namdup Lepcha requested the Zilla Adhakshya for the early construction of the bridge connecting Bey to Pentong. He highlighted that such a bridge would be of great advantage for the overall development of Pentong.
Speaking to the public at the Gram Prasashan Kendra, the Adhakshya assured the public of the area that all possible effort would be put in for the development of Pentong and suggested to the Panchayat members to prepare a proposal for any necessary facilities such as Guest House etc. and submit it to the Zilla Office, so that she can place it before the government. Responding to the request made by the panchayat member, Namdup Lepcha she said that the DPR of the Bey-Pentong Bridge has already been submitted to the concerned department and assured that she will personally look into the matter.
She further informed the public that all their demands and grievances placed during the recently held Yuva Jagaran Abhiyan would be followed up.
