GANGTOK, 29 Nov: Jan Sunwai [public hearing] for MGNREGA works under Arithang Chongrang GPU and Tashiding GPU, facilitated by District Resource Institution (DRI) Himali Vikas Sanstha, was held at Gram Prashasan Kendra (GPK) under the chairmanship of Zilla Panchayat member, Nima Lhamu Chakta on 22 and 29 November, respectively.
The Sabha was attended by ADC (Dev.), BR Subba, Gram Vikas Adhikari (GVA) Chongrang, Yougal Kishor Pradhan along with APOs, JEs, Panchayat President, GRS, Mate, Job card holders and general public, ex- Panchayat Members, Suppliers, Vigilance committee.
As per a press release, ADC (Dev.) emphasized on the importance of MGNREGA works and requested all officials and stake holders of MGNREGA to carry out their duties with full responsibilities.
Social audit of MGNREGA pertaining to the period of Financial Year 2011-12 and 2012-13 were placed before the general public. All the public and Job Card holders unanimously gave their consent for the works carried out and conveyed their satisfaction, the release mentions.
Report of the social audit was read out by District Resource Person (DRP) while all the issues and grievances placed by the public were addressed by the concerned officials.
