GANGTOK, 05 Dec: Monastic and Sanskrit Pathshala Teachers’ Association has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister and also apprised the Chief Secretary of their demand seeking regularization and confirmation of service on the same lines as Government Teachers employed under the Human Resource Development Department. This demand, the association informs is pending with the HRDD and is pending consideration despite several assurances.
The association has urged the state government and Department of Ecclesiastical Affairs to consider their plea as per the decision take way back in 1997 endorsing the regularization and confirmation of their services at par with government teachers.
Following the memorandum submitted him on 26 November, the Chief Minister had directed the Chief Secretary for needful action.
The Chief Secretary has also assured to expedite the process and confirmation of the teachers who are currently working under the Department of Ecclesiastical Affairs as Monastic teachers and Sanskrit Pathshala teachers.
