A press release informs that seven beneficiaries from different micro watershed of IWMP III South underwent the training conducted at IWMP Training Centre, Daragaon, Gangtok. Beneficiaries were motivated to make products learnt during the training when they go back to their villages and also to motivate other villagers and set a good example.
This is the fifth time that bamboo craft training has been conducted in Sikkim by SLNA under IWMP Project, the release mentions. All the four districts falling under IWMP Project have been given training on bamboo craft. The training was conducted by Karna Bahadur Thapa of Samdong as Master Trainer and Ram Bdr. Pradhan from Chujachen as Assistant Trainer.
The valedictory function was attended by Chief Conservator of Forests, CS Rao, CF-cum-CEO SLNA, DC Nepal and SLNA Officers.
The release informs that the training completion certificates and bamboo kits & tools were distributed to the trainees by CS Rao and DC Nepal. Mr Rao congratulated the participants for successfully completing the training and maintaining sincerity and punctuality throughout the training period. He added that bamboo products have good demand in the local markets as well as outside and assured all possible assistance from the department.
He also thanked the trainers for conducting the training in an effective manner.
The beneficiaries of IWMP III South thanked the Department for conducting such beneficial training for the villagers and carrying out other developmental activities under IWMP, it is added.
