RONGLI, 06 Dec [PIB]: The three-day Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign (PIC) organized by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India to inform and create awareness among the people about Central Government’s developmental and welfare schemes and programs at Rongli, East Sikkim came to an end this afternoon. The PIC which began on 04 December was inaugurated by Zilla Adhyaksha East, Bimal Dawari, who was present as the chief guest.
Prizes and certificates were also distributed to winners of various categories of competitions held among school students and healthy baby competition organized by the DFP in the course of the three-day programme. Area MLA, Puran Kumar Gurung, the chief guest of the valedictory function, Director PIB Gangtok, CK Dorjee and Sub Divisional Magistrate, Normit Lepcha were among others who gave away the certificates and prizes to participants and winners in various competitions.
Announcing the formal conclusion of the Public Information Campaign, CK Dorjee thanked the local administration, PRIs, SHGs, NGOs and the local people for the success of the programme.
