GANGTOK, 03 Dec [IPR]: District Collector East, Jitendra Raje chaired a District Co-ordination Meeting today at the Conference Hall of the East District Collectorate. The meeting was attended by ADC (Development) Gangtok and Pakyong, ADC (Reforms), ADC (Headquarters), SDMs, SDPO Gangtok, Gram Vikas Adhikaris, senior officers from all Line Departments, and an officer from the Election Department.
The meeting took stock of all ongoing schemes of the Government and the progress of works in schemes like MPLADS, Prime Minister's Employment Guarantee Programme, Midday Meal, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, REDRH, CMRHM, and Old Age Pension.
In his address, the District Collector called on the officers of concerned departments to address all the issues diligently and constitute a mechanism for consistent monitoring and grievance redressal. He called for frequent inspection of Bazaar areas, in coordination with area officers, to check problems of black marketing and hoarding.
The DC further maintained that all issues relating to the army be brought to the notice of the Collectorate for redressal. He instructed Line Departments to take prompt action with regard to mutation of Government lands. The DC urged all the officers for completion of all the ongoing programmes of the Government within the stipulated time and timely submission of progress reports.
The meeting also discussed issues relating to disaster management and upcoming Assembly election.
