GANGTOK, 29 Nov: A delegation of All Sikkim Khas Chettri Bahun Sangh led by its president NK Bhattarai called on Chief Minister Pawan Chamling at his official residence here on 28 November.
The delegation placed its demand for inclusion of left-out communities in the Scheduled Tribe category before the CM. They also requested for a ‘bhawan’ for the Sangh.
A press release of the Sangh informs that the CM assured that the government has been raising the demand for inclusion of all Sikkimese in the Scheduled Tribes list repeatedly with the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister and Tribal Affairs Ministry.
The CM expressed that the state government has already created strong grounds for the inclusion of all left-out communities as scheduled tribes, the release adds.
The CM encouraged the organization to lead the society towards a positive path and especially to the young generation of the state.
