Cong-SHRPP merger to form strong political force, Dr. Subba explains

GANGTOK, 01 Dec: Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee [SPCC] working president, Dr. AD Subba has said that Sikkim Himali Rajya Parishad Party [SHRPP] has merged with Congress to serve the state as well as the nation’s interests and to form a strong political force in the state.
Dr. Subba was the president of SHRPP before it merged with the SPCC recently.
While explaining the merger, Dr. Subba states in a press release that under the banner of a national party, the interests of Sikkimese people will be fully protected and it was with this view that his decade old regional party has merged with a national party.
Criticizingthe ruling party, he has alleged that the SDF came to power based on promises of making the state corruption-free but in its 19-year rule corruption has only increased adversely affecting development in the state.
The SPCC working president has further accused the SDF government of misleading people of the state by delivering central schemes as state schemes. He has further alleged that Sikkimese people have become landless by forceful acquisition of land for private power project developers and pharma companies.
