GANGTOK, 30 Sept: Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) has announced a contribution of approximately Rs. 8 lakhs in aid of the earthquake victims of Sikkim.
Yesterday, a team of Lions Club International 322 F District visited the earthquake affected areas of the East district and collected details of North district from the concerned authorities.
A state-level meeting of the Lions Club was convened at Tadong to plan future steps to be taken for the earthquake victims of the state.
Lions Club International District 322 F District Governor, Binod Kumar Agarwal addressing the meet also said he has already sent an appeal letter throughout the multiple council areas of nine states and also to the international presidents and directors. Positive response is coming and in the initial stage the LCIF has assured their support. [from SANJAY AGARWAL]
