GANGTOK, 11 Aug: Vividh Kala Akademi and Vichar Kala Sangam have announced plans to jointly organize a weeklong photography exhibition in Gangtok on the occasion of World Photography Day from 19 August onwards at Hotel Tashi Delek. The closing ceremony of this exhibition will be held at Raj Bhawan Gangtok on 26 August, it is informed.
The exhibition will showcase the works of one of Sikkim’s pioneering news photographers, Twang Yang, besides frames by Ashok Dilwali.
The opening ceremony, it is informed, will have former Chief Secretary KC Pradhan as chief guest.
The Governor will be the chief guest on the closing programme at Raj Bhawan. In his interactions with the organizing committee members, the Governor advised them to include photographs from Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Siliguri as well in the exhibition and also suggested that younger photographers be provided space at the exhibition also.
