GANGTOK, 12 Aug: Students of Kyi-de-Khang Secondary School have also participated in the ENGAGE 14 initiative of the Gangtok Municipal Cooperation and vowed to reduce and reuse as much as possible. A press release informs that the students of the school during the course of the Engage Discussion intervention also promised to segregate their waste and highlighted that they would have two bins at home for segregation of dry and wet waste.
During the ENGAGE Discussion, the students of the school also positively highlighted on the aspect of creating an e-waste bin to collect electronic waste and send it to the GMC for further recycling of the same.
The ENGAGE 14 program is a seven months intervention of the GMC and till date has reached out to 27 schools within the jurisdiction of the Gangtok Municipal Corporation. ENGAGE 14 is a three-phase intervention with ENGAGE Quiz for Junior High Schools, ENGAGE Discussion for Secondary Schools and ENGAGE Race for Senior Secondary Schools. The ENGAGE 14 program has been powered by 24hours Inspired.
