GANGTOK, 11 Aug: Engage Discussion, the second phase of ENGAGE 14, the initiative of Gangtok Municipal Corporation to sensitize school students on the different aspects of Solid Waste Management and inspire them to reduce, reuse and recycle, was conducted at Mt. Zion School, Tadong, today a press release informs.
During the intervention, the students of the school were informed about how to reduce as much of waste as possible. The students were also sensitized about Dry and Wet Waste, biodegradable and non bio degradable waste, electronic waste and urged to spread wider awareness on these topics.
The students also competed in a poster design completion on the topic of Solid Waste Management and the future of Gangtok in terms of reducing, reusing and recycling.
ENGAGE 14 is a three phase initiative with the first intervention targeted for Junior High Schools, second intervention for secondary schools and the third intervention for senior secondary schools. ENGAGE 14 is carried out by 24hours Inspired.
