Meeting on formation of BFAC and BTT at Regu

GANGTOK, 08 Aug: An Orientation cum Co-ordination programme to form Block Farmer’s Advisory Committee (BFAC) & Block Technology Team (BTT) was organized by Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) East Sikkim under FS&ADD in Regu Gram Vikash Kendra Conference hall on 07 August.
A press release informs that the meeting was chaired by Gram Vikash Adhikari Sabindra Rai, while sub-divisional officers, Agriculture Inspector, VLW, Zilla and Gram Panchayats of Rolep-Lamaten, Regu, Lingtam, Rongli, Chujachen, Dalapchand, Chujachen and Aritar GPU, representatives of Amar Jyoti Organic NGO, CONCEDE, ICCAU service provider and progressive farmers attended on.
Rongli Agriculture Assistant Director, IS Chettri gave the welcome address while BTM, ATMA Regu, Dhanraj Chettri briefed the gathering on ATMA scheme and importance of co-ordination amongst the different departments.
Bharat Pradhan of Farm School Chujachen shared his experience on ATMA activities. V.O. cum Deputy Director AH&VS Dr. Tashi Chozang announced the names of BTT members and their key functions.
BFAC consists of 25 members including one Chairperson from among the farmers while BTT consists of officials from department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Fisheries and Organic Service Provider, the release mentions.
