Sikkim Boys beat Kalimpong team to enter finals
GANGTOK, 12 Aug: Sikkim Boys has entered the finals of the ongoing Independence Day Football Tournament for the Chogyal Sir Tashi Namgyal Memorial Cup 2014 here at Paljor Stadium. In a contesting semifinal match played today, Sikkim Boys knocked out Share FC of Kalimpong two goals to nil.
Towards the end of the second half, the match was halted for around 10 minutes when Share FC players expressed their deep displeasure over a decision of the referee and refused to play further. The match resumed only after a long discussion between players, referees and other match officials which ended with the Sikkim Boys goalkeeper being sent off on a red card.
The second semi-final of the match will be played between Kanchenjunga FC of Siliguri and Siniolchu Namchi at 2 PM on Wednesday.
