Melli, 11 Aug: Urban Development & Housing Department Minister NK Subba, accompanied by area MLA, PHE Minister Tulsi Devi Rai, visited the ongoing projects and upcoming worksites at Melli Bazaar here in South Sikkim today.
During the visit, Mr. Subba expressed happiness over the cleanliness at Melli Bazar and highlighted that the town was the gateway to South and West districts and hence even more necessary to be kept clean and appealing.
He visited the Melli Primary Health Centre and discussed beautification plans for the rpemises along with proposals to increase and improve facilities for patients. He visited ongoing projects like the Melli Bazar playground and gallery construction, parking and shopping complex, sewage treatment plant.
The Minister also visited the proposed site for the walkway at Melli Bazar along the Teesta, food court and shopping complex area. He instructed departmental officials that no compromises be allowed on quality and assured to fulfil all the demands placed by the gram panchats.
Later, Minister Subba was felicitated at Melli Gumpa Secondary School playground.
