SINGTAM, 11 Aug: Brothers Nikhil and Neeraj Rai shared five goals between themselves as Chisopani JHS went on to blank out Bright Life Academy seven goals to nil in the 68th Independence Day Interschool JHS Level Football Tournament underway at Chisopani JHS.
Karan Gurung scored the first goal for his team, following which, the brothers dominated the field. Nikhil scored a hat-trick following which, his younger brother, Neeraj Rai, coming in as a substitute added two more goals for his team. The seventh goal was scored by Lakpa Tamang.
Although the scoreline suggests a one-sided match, BLA did put up a good fight and tried hard.
Chisopani JHS will now meet Pachak Secondary School in the second semifinal of the tournament scheduled for 13 August.
Agriculture Minister Somnath Poudhyal was present as chief guest today and also visited the school and interacted with the staff. He assured every help to make the school better. Mahesh Dahal, Headmaster of the school placed the requirement list of the school to the Minister along with the half yearly report of the school. [from SHITAL PRADHAN]
