MANGAN, 01 Nov: The Yamuna Samaj of Patuk Takjer under Tumin-Lingee Constituency celebrated its 15th Foundation Day on 31 October.
The function had Ward Panchayat, KB Chettri as the chief guest and was marked with diverse cultural presentations. The President of the Samaj, CB Rai in his speech gave a brief background of the Samaj and the activities carried out over all these years. Mr. Rai also called on the younger generations to contribute in strengthening and taking the samaj a long way in the field of social services in the state.
The chief guest, Mr. Chettri in his address lauded the social services rendered by the Samaj over a decade’s time and assured of assisting the Samaj in the construction of Samaj Bhawan. He assured to come up with financial assistance upto Rs.10 lakh for Bhawan Construction on his behalf. He also called on the people to contribute towards transforming Tumin Lingee Constituency as a model constituency as declared by the Chief Minister and at the same time urged the people not to pay heed to baseless rumors being spread with regards to the 18 September earthquake.
