GANGTOK, 03 Nov: State Bank of Sikkim has clarified that five persons appointed as Jr. Accounts Assistant, mentioned in news items in local newspapers are purely on a temporary basis to meet the increased workload of the bank owing to the recent earthquake and also due to increased workload in view of the opening of 4 new branches in this financial year, according to a press release issued by the HO, State Bank of Sikkim, Gangtok.
The release also clarifies that the Board of Directors has given approval to create posts of 10 Jr. Accounts Assistant to meet the increased work load and also took a decision that as per the norms, all the 10 posts will be filled through competitive examination and interview.
Further, the Bank clarifies that for filling up the posts, SPSC will be requested to conduct the examination. Once the recruitment process of the 10 Jr. Accounts Assistant s is completed within a period of 3 months, temporary appointments will be cancelled automatically, the release adds.
