GANGTOK, 02 Nov: State Institute of Capacity Building conducted a Security Guard training programme at Bermiok under Gyalshing-Bermiok constituency, West Sikkim.
The first batch, a total of 50 trainees completed their three-month training programme on 01 Nov. At the programme, Deputy Speaker, Sikkim Legislative Assembly cum area MLA, Gyalshing Bermiok constituency,M.B. Dahal was present as the chief guest.
Chief Administrator, SICB, SD Dhakal encouraged the succesful trainees to be dedicated in their duty. Further, the SICB is attached with its service partners for appropriate job placement of the security guards, it was informed.
Deputy Speaker, Mr Dahal highlighted the government activities which were targeted towards building capacity and encouraging self-employment. He also enlightened the audience on the rights and responsibilities of the security guards further stating that such a trained person will not go jobless. He informed that there were many security agencies establishing offices in Sikkim which now provided a good opportunity for employment of the youth of the state.
The training for the second batch of fifty (50) students also started on the same day. Present at the programme were Joint Chief Administrator SICB, K.B. Pradhan, BDO Hee-Martam BAC, Biswa B.Raj Gurung and Govind Singh from Delhi who is a service partner and Panchayats of Bermiok-Berthang GPU and local gentries.
