SPCC delegation in Delhi to push for tribal status for left-out communities

GANGTOK, 08 Jan: Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee [SPCC] has stressed that the party has taken up the issue to provide tribal status to left-out Nepalese communities of the state on a priority basis. An SPCC press release states that the party’s leaders, considering the importance of the matter, have been submitting memorandums to various agencies and ministries of the central government. The release also informs that an SPCC delegation has also been meeting various leaders in New Delhi especially to explain the importance of providing tribal status to the left out communities. In fact, as per the SPCC, the delegation has been in the process of submitting a 5-point memorandum which explains the historicity and socio cultural significance of such a demand.
