PTS gives a leg up for BPL students and artists

Namchi, 8th January: The Pragatisil Tamang Sangh (PTS) has decided to sponsor 6 students belonging to the BPL category to coaching classes; these 6 students are due to appear for their respective board exam for Class X and Class XII.
The Pragatisil Tamang Sangh which was formed recently by the educated Tamang youth of South District had convened  a meeting in which this decision to support 6 BPL category students was taken. The meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Nirmala Moktan.
President PTS, Raju Pakhrin informed that it had been decided by the Sangh in an earlier meeting that it would sponsor Tamang students of the BPL category appearing for Class X and XII board exams to winter coaching camps. Accordingly 6 students from different places of South District falling in BPL family were selected.
Among the six students are Karma Doma Tamang of Namphing, Tshering Tamang of Tokal Bermiok, Bishal Tamang of Salleybung, Samphel Tamang of Boomtar Namchi, Anju Tamang of Sorok and Bijay Tamang of Assangthang. The President also informed that the Sangh had also selected 8 singers from South District who will be sponsored so that they can record their Tamang Selo music albums too.
He said that the aim of the Sangh is to encourage the Tamang youths in different fields such as sports, culture and education etc. and to provide them platforms in their respective fields. He further informed that Sangh would also start Tamang language classes in near future and in addition to that it would also organize language and literature seminars. The meeting was also attended by Advisor of the Sangh Kaziman Tamang, VP Ugen Tamang and other members.
