GANGTOK, 03 Aug: Namthang Rateypani MLA and Parliamentary Secretary, Tilu Gurung, inaugurated the 3rd Late Man Rupa Gurung Memorial Volleyball Tournament “Hill Championship” at Majhitar under West Pendam Constituency today.
A press release informs that the tournament was organised by Majhitar Educated Unemployed Youth Cooperative Society. The first match was played between Turuk United and Friends United in which the former won by a good margin.
West Pendam Gram Panchayat Unit President & ClC president, Pratap Singh Rai was present as the guest of honour on the occasion. The chief guest lit the ceremonial lamp in memory of Late Man Rupa Gurung and two-minute silence was also observed.
