GANGTOK, 07 Aug: Aadarsh Samaj of Development Area here, along with the District Legal Services Authority and Taluk Legal Services Committee organized a “Micro legal literacy camp” on Wednesday.
The camp was attended by the Chief Judicial Magistrate Suraj Chettri and resource persons Sonam Palden Bhutia and Sunil Baraily. They informed the gathering about civil and criminal justice, Juvenile Justice Act, Central Motor Vehicles Act, Insurance, Women’s Protection Act and Domestic Violence, a press release states.
The CJM explained that the main idea behind the camp was to bring awareness among the people about legal issues and equip them to deal more effectively with the criminal and civil justice system.
Earlier, president of the Samaj, Hem Narayan Pradhan gave the welcome address while the vote of thanks was proposed by general secretary, Phurba Sherpa.
