GANGTOK,
27 Mar: A four-member delegation of 24 Hours Inspired, a group of social
entrepreneurs led by Diwaker Basnet called on the Governor of Sikkim, Shriniwas
Patil at Raj Bhawan on 27 March 2014.
A
press release informs that the Governor greeted the members of the NGO and
lauded their effort in inculcating competitive spirit among students, building knowledge
and awareness among students about the opportunities the modern world has to
offer and their roles through various interventions.
The
members apprised the Governor about various programmes being undertaken by
their group in the field of academics, career counselling and leadership
development for the benefit of students and youth in general.
Interacting
with the members of the group, Governor commended the initiative recently
launched by them to collect magazines on news and current affairs from the
prospective donors and agencies and providing the same to schools in the remote
and rural parts of the state where students do not have the opportunity and
facility to read such materials.
On
the occasion, the Governor also handed over 127 copies of the magazines on news
and current affairs to them and assured them all possible help in their initiatives,
the release informs.
