GYALSHING,
27 Mar [IPR]: The General Observer, Anwaruddin Chaudhary, called a meeting with
the members of the political parties at the DAC conference hall here today.
The
members of the political parties assembled and put forward their issues and
grievances. They suggested some points which they felt would make the election
process smooth.
According
to the candidates, the procedures for obtaining loudspeakers, venue and vehicle
permissions are tedious and time-consuming; thus they suggested that they would
benefit a lot if it could be simplified.
Campaigning
time should be shortened from 10 pm to 4 pm so that there is no inconvenience
to the general public. They also informed the General Observer that government
employees are also involved in campaigning which violates the norms of the code
of conduct.
The
General Observer assured them that all the points put forward will be looked
into. He also appealed to the leaders of the parties that any person who
violates the code of conduct should be reported to the Returning Officer with
evidence.
In
conclusion, he assured them that justice will be provided to all and added that
he is always available in office for the general public to address any grievances
or suggestions related to the election.
