MANGAN, 27 Mar: After presiding over the scrutiny of nomination papers of North district candidates, General Observer, Tshering Angchok had a meeting with the officials deployed for the general election 2014 here at the control room, DAC, Pentok, today. The Returning Officer North, TN Kazi, while delivering the welcome address underlined about the preparedness measures taken for the upcoming poll.
ARO, R K Yadav apprised him about election management of the district through power point presentation, wherein he informed that there has been no reports of violation of the model code of conduct. The election team has conducted 23 of the 24 SVEEP programmes to be conducted and have been disseminating latest election updates to the public through SMS service, social networking sites and press notes.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Angchok complimented the efforts of the district election management team and hoped that the management would be able to conduct free and fair polls in the district.
"All officers have a vital role to play in the conduct of free and fair elections, therefore each and every ARO and sector magistrate should be very careful in their duties and should work in close coordination with the police department" said Mr. Angchok. Meanwhile, he has also urged every election management team to be pro active vis-à-vis their duty.
