Mr. Lachungpa was returning from Pune where he received the Global Indian of the Year award from Citizen Integrity Peace Society of India for promoting health and industries in Sikkim and the Northeast region. Former President of India, Pratibha Devi Singh Patil conferred the award to Mr Lachungpa on 19 January in Pune it is informed.
While addressing members of the Healthy Self Organisation, Mr Lachungpa said that the award has inspired him to work with more dedication in promoting healthy living in and outside the state.
