GANGTOK, 21 Jan: Allotment orders for construction of houses under the Chief Minister’s Rural Housing Mission were formally handed over to 45 beneficiaries of Salghari Gram Panchayat Unit, under Poklok Kamrang constituency, today at a function organized by the Salghari Gram Prashasan Kendra.
After the distribution program in the first session, the Gram Panchayats organized Gram Sabha to deal with issues relating to preparation of projects under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) for the GPU for the year 2014-15, a press release informs.
The program was attended by Chairman, Labour Welfare Board, Passang Rinzing Sherpa, Jorethang Gram Vikash Adhikari Deepak Rai, Assistant Program Officer Santosh Sharma, Junior Engineers, Panchayat Inspector, Panchayats, members of Gram Planning Forum and Village Development Committees and large number of public and beneficiaries, the release adds.
The Gram Vikash Adhikari appealed to all the beneficiaries to be serious and commence the construction as early as possible so that the project is completed within the given deadline. He further, informed that more beneficiaries will be covered under the scheme once the Janta Mela is held for South Sikkim on 04 February as the Gram Vikash Kendra has already compiled and submitted names of those genuine households who were left out in the last phase due to shortage of quota.
