GANGTOK, 01 July: National Students’ Union of India [NSUI], Sikkim, has stated that its national team will approach the Union HRD Minister and Human Rights Commission regarding the lathicharge on students of Sikkim Government College, Tadong on 14 July if the one-man committee’s report is not “satisfactory”.
An NSUI press release states that if the report goes against the students, then another protest at the national level will be launched. The release streeses that the protest will be a peaceful one. The Union has further demanded that no legal action should be taken against the students.
