NAMCHI, 07 Oct: A workshop on Unified District Information for Education [U-DISE] was organized for heads of all government, private and monastic schools under Namchi Gram Vikash Kendra on 05 October at Government Senior Secondary School, Namchi.
For monitoring activities of Government’s flagship programme, namely Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), a computerized management information system, namely DISE with school as the unit of data collection and district as the unit of data dissemination has been successfully developed jointly by the National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA), Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of HRD, Government of India and UNICEF which is under implementation in all the 662 districts spread over 35 States and UTs of the country.
As a part of 2013-14 annual collection, data will be recorded on 30 September 2013. States have been advised to observe DISE Fortnight, during the period 03 to 15 October, 2013 across the country.
The daylong workshop was organized by AEO Namchi BAC, Sunita Pradhan wherein she welcomed all the participants and requested them to actively participate in the workshop. The workshop was chaired by MK Rai [JD/HRDD/South District]. During the course of his deliberations, Mr. Rai highlighted about the importance of U-DISE in the present education system. He further stressed on various criteria and indicators involved in the development of school plan and also sought active co-operation from school heads in filling up of the U-DISE and other related forms.
Speaking on the academic issues and performances of the students, he requested one and all for better co-ordination in providing a better education system. Junior Programmer, HRDD Gangtok, Sunil Giri was the resource person for the day, who guided all the participants in filling up of the U-DISE forms properly. He mentioned that correct filling of forms will only result in fruitful district planning process and requested all to put in sincere and dedicated efforts in filling up the forms. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Bhuwan Tamang [CRC, Rong].
