GANGTOK, 10 Oct: Area MLA, Tulsi Devi Rai inaugurated five REDRH houses and one CMRHM house at Turuk Ramabong GPU under Melli Block on 09 October.
An official release informs that out of 5 REDRH houses inaugurated 4 houses were taken up by Livelihood School Turuk where the carpentry trade is being imparted to the trainees. Livelihood School successfully completed the REDRH houses within the scheduled time. An interactive session with the Livelihood school students was also held in the second half of the programme.
Nagen Chettri, a Livelihood School trainee, thanked the government for opening Livelihood schools in the area which provides training on technical skills from qualified professionals. Gram Vikash Adhikari, Dinesh Pradhan, urged the trainees to make a group and start work on new REDRH houses and CMRHM houses within the Melli Block.
Chief Administrator State Institute of Capacity Building, SD Dhakal, asked the trainees to take full advantage of the school and make use of what they have learnt in the last one year. The MLA while addressing the trainees, congratulated them for successful completion of their one-year course. She asked the trainees to form a Construction Cooperative society and undertake construction work of government buildings. She also interacted with the beneficiaries and lent a patient ear to their grievances, the release adds.
The beneficiaries thanked the MLA and the government for providing them with the new houses.
The programme ended with vote of thanks by Assistant Engineer, GVK, Sumbuk, Sandeep Khatiwada.
