Simick-Lingzey convenes Gram Sabha


MANGAN, 19 Dec:   The Gram Sabha of 39-Simick-Lingzey GPU in East Sikkim was held at Pahuk School in East Sikkim yesterday, presided over by Panchayat President, Renuka Sharma.

The Sabha deliberated on the Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF), preparation of Perspective Plans for the 12th Five Year Plan Period, Village Development Action Plan and the MGNERGA, informs a press release issued by Panchayat member, KP Chettri.
The BDO Tintek, Tenzing Dorjee Denzongpa highlighted the importance of Gram Sabha and different schemes of the government.  He also urged the Gram Panchayat for the renewal and issue of trade licenses by the GPU, the release mentions.
Similarly, the representatives from line departments highlighted about the schemes and status of ongoing work. Besides, an open discussion was also held during the Sabha where the villagers placed various questions related to the different schemes to the representatives of line departments, the release adds. The Sabha concluded with the vote of thanks by Panchayat member, Pema Ongyal Lepcha.
The Sabha was also attended by Zilla member, Harihar Poudyal, Panchayat members of respective wards, representatives of line departments, block and ward level committees, Field Facilitator and the general public.
