Gram Sabha held at Tumin GPU


MANGAN, 18 Dec: The Gram Sabha of 40-Tumin GPU was held at the Gram Prasashan Kendra at Tumin in East Sikkim on 16 Dec which was presided over by Panchayat President, Tika Devi Dhakal.
The Sabha was attended by BDO Tintek, Tenzing Dorjee Denzongpa members of respective wards, representatives of line departments, block and ward level committees and the general public, informs in a press release issued by Mani Raj Rai (RDA).

The ward panchayats of respective wards highlighted their demands related to the development of the village like construction of RCC Bridge, protective wall, provision of drinking water supply, river training work, cardamom plantation, CC footpath etc, the release informs.
Panchayat member, Hem Raj Adhikari highlighted about the demands which were approved by the Chief Minister during his village-to-village tour. The BDO Tintek, Tenzing Dorjee Denzongpa highlighting on the importance of the Gram Sabha, informed about power decentralization by the government wherein he urged the Panchayat members to work with dedication towards the development of the village.
The representatives of line departments highlighted about the different schemes of the department, the release adds.
