Green Skills Training Centre inaugurated at Beng


GANGTOK, 21 Dec: A “Green Skills Training Centre” of Basix Academy for Building Lifelong Employability [B-ABLE] was inaugurated at Beng, Khamdong Phatak, near Makha, by the Khamdong-Singtam MLA, Am Prasad Sharma, yesterday.

The objective of the center is to impart training to farmers on organic farming with the main focus on orange production, vegetable cultivation and various cash crops production at Khamdong, an official press release informs.
The training will also focus on developing entrepreneurship skills among farmers, B-ABLE adds, and also envisages to develop rural tourism at Khamdong by promoting training and skills.
The inauguration was also attended by officials from the Horticulture & Cash Crop Development Department, Khamdong BAC officials, Panchayats, representatives from local NGOs and SHGs and residents of the area.
