Kendriya Vidyalaya celebrates 36th Annual Day


GANGTOK, 20 Dec: The Kendriya Vidyalaya Gangtok celebrated its 36th Annual Day at the Defence Auditorium today. Present for the occasion were Major General, VN Prasad [SM] GOC, 17 Mountain Division as the chief guest, Accountant General, Dinesh Bhargav as the guest of honour, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya Gangtok, Swaminath Gupta, teachers, students, parents and locals.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Major General VN Prasad said that the Kendriya Vidyalaya plays a very important role in the schooling of middle class children and is doing a very good job of grooming the children of tomorrow. Children from all parts of the country come and study in the school and this shows the cultural diversity of the nation, he added.
“I have just seen one programme performed due to time constraint, but just this one performance shows the amount of talent the children of the school possess”, the Major General said and added that school life is the best time of one’s life, so one must enjoy their school life to its fullest.
Earlier in the day the Principal of the school presented the school’s annual report, while the school children presented various cultural programmes and prizes were distributed to children who had excelled in various fields in the school.
