Sikkim Limboo Sahityik Prakashan Samiti appeals for support for Chemjong Bhawan construction


GANGTOK, 19 Dec: A meeting of Sikkim Limboo Sahityik Prakashan Samiti was convened at Girls’ Senior Secondary School, Kyongsa, Gyalshing, West Sikkim under the chairmanship of senior Limboo litterateur, BB Muringla, informs a press release.

The president of the Samiti, Sherman Limboo presented the details of the work being carried out by the Samiti and appealed for support and contribution from all for the construction of “Chemjang Bhawan” at Tikjek, Gyalshing.
The meeting extended its gratitude towards the government for showing its consideration towards the community by shifting the power project work 5 km further down on the Reshi Martam River (Kalej River) which otherwise was posing a threat to the historic spot of the community, the release informs.  
The meeting also resolved to organize the annual event, “Chemjang Jayanti” at Gyalshing Community Hall with various cultural and literary programmes. It was further informed that Barkha Predha and Dr. Gopal Prasad Dahal have been nominated for this year’s awards for their literary and social contributions.
The president appreciated the efforts of the Samiti so far for the upliftment of the community and extended his best wishes for the “Chemjang Jayanti” celebration.
The meeting was also attended by the general secretary, Kumar Subba, joint secretary, TS Limboo, Buddhi Hangma Subba and others, the release adds.
