TAAS mourns deaths, pledges assistance

GANGTOK, 21 Sept: The Travel Agents Association of Sikkim (TAAS) has condoled the deaths caused by the earthquake in Sikkim, informs a press release issued by its president, Lukendra Rasaily. “We stand by with the bereaved families of the victims and the people of Sikkim,” the release states.
The inauguration of the Capacity Building Training for the North East Region which was scheduled for 24 September has been postponed to 12 October owing to the calamity, the release further informs.
Pledging a sum of Rs. 10,1,000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, the president and executive members of TAAS have appealed to all members and other tourism stakeholders to extend a helping hand to the bereaved families and support the administration at this crucial juncture.
