Namchi pools resources to help North Sikkim recover


NAMCHI, 22 Sept: Namchi, which has been spared the ferocity of the Sunday Earthquake, has come forward to help the worst affected district of North Sikkim.
Under the initiative of Namchi Municipal Council, the people of Namchi Bazaar today made donations in cash and kind in support of the earthquake victims of North Sikkim. This was collected by the Namchi Municipal Council here at Namchi Central Park.

The NMC will be handing over the collections to the Mangan Nagar Panchayat.
NMC Chairman, BT Tamang, explained that Namchi has been saddened by the scale of destruction which has visited North district and stands resolved to help restore normalcy in the worst affected areas.
He extended support on behalf of the people of Namchi to the people of North Sikkim in this time of distress and also thanked the people here for extending help so generously.
