STCS officials inspect damage to head office, resolve to assist relief measures across Sikkim

GANGTOK, 21 Sept: STCS building located at Deorali has developed a series of severe cracks and taken other damages. Consequently, a team of officials of the Corporation led by their Chairperson MLA Chandra Maya Subba, inspected the office building on 19 September to assess the damage and the threat posed to both the officials working there as well as to its property, informs a press release.
After the inspection, an emergency meeting of the officials, presided over by the Chairperson, was held to deliberate on the course of action to be taken to ensure safety of the officials working in the building as well as to initiate urgent protective measures to be undertaken.
During the course of the meeting, the Corporation also expressed its condolence and sympathy over the human losses due to the earthquake, the release informs.
The meeting further decided to extend all support and assistance to the Government and the affected people. “The meeting, in this hour of natural crisis, also called upon one and all to come forward with their fullest cooperation to strengthen the hands of the Government to provide relief to the victims as part of our common social responsibility,” the release adds.
