Govt Drivers appeal for one day’s salary to be contributed to relief fund


GANGTOK, 23 Sept: The executive members of All Sikkim Government Drivers’ Association convened a meeting today at the Tashiling Secretariat with the SNT Drivers and Conductors Association, All Fourth Grade Employees Association, All Sikkim MR/WC Government Employees Association, All Sikkim Forest Guard Association and SNT Mechanical Workers Association. The meeting was presided over by the president, ASDA, Chakra Bhr. Rai, informs a press release issued by the general secretary, ASDA, Karma Tshering

The meeting resolved to appeal to all government employees to contribute one day’s salary/ wage towards a relief fund founded in support of the victims of the earthquake, the release informs.  
The meeting also observed 2 minutes silence in the memory of the victims of the earthquake and offered their condolences to the affected families. The members at the meeting also thanked all the recue teams from ITBP, Indian Army, BRO, Civil Services, Press/Media, State and Central Government, Health Department and the NGOs.
