SIKKIM WILL TAKE A MONTH TO RETURN TO NORMAL: CM
GANGTOK, 20 Sept [IPR]: Chief Minister Pawan Chamling toured the earthquake affected village of Nandok in East Sikkim today and distributed the ex-gratia payment to the affected families. Along with the ex-gratia the Chief Minister also distributed Indira Awas Yojana forms to families whose houses were completely damaged by the earthquake and who have been rendered homeless. The Chief Minister also visited Nandok Secondary School which has been extensively damaged by earthquake.
The Chief Minister assured the public every assistance from the government to help the people overcome this tragic incident.
Addressing media-persons at Nandok, the Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction over the relief measures being undertaken by the various agencies of the State government and the Central government. He also said that the state administration has efficiently handled the situation and further added that it will take about a month for the state to return to normalcy.
