GANGTOK, 23 May: Sikkim Krantikari Morcha [SKM] has accused
Sikkim Democratic Front [SDF] workers of setting a vehicle belonging to an SKM
party worker on fire on Thursday night.
As per an SKM release, a Maruti Alto belonging to SKM party
worker Jeewan Kumar Rai of Mamring was set on fire on the night of 22 May. The
vehicle was parked in front of Mr. Rai’s house, it is informed.
SKM has further alleged that some antisocial elements and SDF
party supporters have been threatening SKM party workers in Poklok Kamrang constituency
of dire consequences if they did not leave the village.
SDF party workers are also accused of vandalizing one house
belonging to SKM supporter Shyam Kumar Rai in Zoom Salghari.
SKM has accused SDF of resorting to such threats and violence
against those who supported SKM in the recently concluded elections.
